I’d have to say that pizza is my most favourite food. There are just so many possibilities for toppings and crusts that it never gets boring. If you have picky eaters like mine, you can let them build their own pizzas so everyone gets exactly what they want. I like to include a pizza night in my meal planning, because it’s great for using up leftovers and it’s so easy. And of course there’s the most important reason I love pizza — the cheese! To me, there’s nothing better than a generous amount of melty, ooey-gooey cheese on top of pizza. I’m going to share some of my ideas for homemade pizza night.
Here’s a look back at some of the pizzas we’ve enjoyed over the years.
Did you know you can bake amazing pizza crust on your BBQ? It’s so much fun! Give it a try this summer; you won’t be disappointed.
Vegetable and Ham Pizza with Alfredo Sauce
Swap out the usual tomato sauce for a creamy Alfredo sauce as a base for your pizza. I shaped this pizza in a long oval and cut it into strips to make fun pizza sticks that are perfect for kids.
Another hit with the kids, but one that grown-ups love just as much – homemade pizza pockets! They freeze well and make a tasty addition to lunch boxes.
If you have leftover Butter Chicken, toss it onto a pizza. It’s even better if you have leftover Naan as well, because Naan makes the perfect pizza crust.
I love Mexican food almost as much as I love pizza, so this Mexican Pizza was perfection to me. I added chicken, black beans, corn, sliced green onions on a thick homemade pizza crust.
Egg Pizza with Pepperoni and Cheese
Egg on your pizza may sound strange, but it’s amazing. If you like eggs, you’ll love this “Eggza” for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Kids have as much fun making it as eating it.
Give your pizza a tropical twist with mangos and chicken over Coconut Adobo sauce.
Good ol’ Ham & Pineapple
You can never go wrong with Ham and Pineapple in our house. Out of all the fancy pizzas I’ve made, we still like this one the best. Sometimes simple is the way to go. I usually use store-bought Naan bread as the pizza crust because it tends to be cheaper (and in my opinion, it’s tastier) than store-bought pizza crust. We top it with pizza sauce, chopped ham or sliced deli ham, canned pineapple tidbits, slices of red onion, and mozzarella cheese.
In my last post, I shared a “meal template” for Chili, and now I’ll do something similar here for pizza so you’ll have a wide range of possibilities to try for your next pizza night. It’s like a choose-your-own adventure!

What do you like to put on your pizza?
What a great & varied selection of pizza ideas. I think my favourite is going to be Vegetable & Ham with the Alferdo Sauce then next in line the Butter Chicken PIzza. Who doesn’t love pizza.
Great ideas! They all look delicious. I especially love the butter chicken pizza…yummy!
I love using naan bread as a pizza base!! Also the egg pizza is one I will have to try – breakfast pizza!
So many good ideas here – love the template idea!
lovely collection. yum… 😀
That Mexican pizza is calling my name. Thanks for sharing. BTW, do you use a pizza stone? If so, what brand do you have?
Sadly, I don’t have one! I’ve been meaning to get on that one of these days.
