Ayla will be 8 months old in just another week. I know people always say this, but time really does fly by, doesn’t it? A baby’s first year is so fleeting and filled with so many precious first moments that will never happen again. I do my best to document these moments so I don’t forget what my kids were like as babies, when they were still so fresh to the world around them. I was just browsing through old photos and videos today, and found these shots of each of my babies eating food for the first time.
I especially like Bennett’s startled face as I try to feed him; he’s always been such an expressive little guy. Neither of the boys was very keen on eating solids at first, but Ayla went crazy for solid food right from the start. The girl loves her food, just like her momma!
Watching my babies experience new things is so exciting. I’m actually not sure who gets more excited, them or me! I couldn’t wait to feed Ayla Cheerios for the first time. Cheerios have always been the staple finger food for the wee-ones in our house, and the boys still eat them for breakfast or snack quite often. Ayla had been watching her brothers eating Cheerios and was ready to join them.
Disclosure – I am participating in the First Cheerios blogger campaign by Mom Central Canada on behalf of General Mills. I received compensation as a thank you for participating and for sharing my honest opinion. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Be careful about entering contests that require a photo. I entered my son’s image in a Cheerios contest in 2010. Guess who is being used as the face of this latest campaign 3 years later? That’s right. My son.

We thought we would win an RRSP in exchange for his awesome photo, instead General Mills has rights to our son’s image in perpetuity. Weigh that big release before you enter your kids’ images for a $1 coupon.
