I write a lot about foods that keep our bodies healthy, but let’s not forget how important it is to keep our mouths healthy too. I try to set a good example for my kids by brushing and rinsing twice a day, and flossing every day as well. I admit, I’m not perfect at it. Sometimes I get lazy and skip the flossing, or sometimes I just forget, but it seems to catch up to me when I go to the dentist office.
Come on, you know it’s happened to you too. They ask you how often you’ve been brushing and flossing, and you might slightly exaggerate on how much you actually do. Then they start prodding around in your mouth and your gums start to bleed. Sure, you can try and blame it on the hygienist being way too rough with flossing and brushing, but the truth is that you probably haven’t been taking the best care of your teeth and gums. A lot of people think that bleeding gums are a result of brushing too hard, but did you know they’re actually a sign of early gum disease? The good news is that you can help reverse it in just two weeks* with help from LISTERINE®. In fact, LISTERINE® TOTAL CARE® actually kills 99.9% of germs that cause early gum disease. That’s pretty impressive!
I’m going to be participating in the LISTERINE® Challenge, to help get back into a better oral care routine. The challenge is open to all Canadian residents. I hope you’ll join me. Not only will you be on your way to a healthier mouth, you’ll also have a chance to win $20,000‡! Not too shabby! It runs from January 27th 2015 to July 15 2015, so there’s still lots of time to sign up.
Be sure to check back here in a couple weeks once I’ve finished the challenge, so you can read about how it went, and enter to win a LISTERINE® kit of your own.
